Always good to read and hear Mikes stories of his days with Embassy Records.
Mike is one of the few genuine people in the music business who loves to indulge in the good old days when music was music.
Keep up the good work.
Kind regards,
Bob Lusty.Embassy Records Collector.

My Mom and Dad were both popular soloists and also did many duets together with the John Fearnely singers. It was their love of music that brought them together in the fifties. They married in 1955 and were still singing as I grew up,often being looked after in the dressing rooms while they were onstage. Their names were Maureen and Eddie…..(Maureen Parkes and Albert Edwin Brammer).
My parents emmigrated to Canada in 1964 and that is were my brothers and I grew to adulthood. I have since returned to the UK and am tickled pink that there is something on the web about John Fearnley. My mother has continued singing in Canada, while my Dad gave private singing lessons to a select few. He passed away two years ago at the age of 83 but when I listen to BBC radio on Sunday, I often am reminded of the lovely music I grew up with.
thank you

I remember John and his family well. He had two brothers, Harrison (I believe his father was called Harrison as well) who played for Leeds United and Nelson. I played football with Nelson on many occasions. John gave me singing lessons when I was about 12 years years old (I am now 73 years young!) and I can remember taking part in two concerts one of which was in Halifax at a Church Hall, possibly St James’. Another member of the group was Shirley Winterburn who lived in the Birks area of Morley. I believe sho was a few months older that me. I also came from Morley, living about half a mile from where John’s parents lived
