ABOUT BLUSH

The early days
Blush first started Dj’ing in 1994 at the tender age of 17, and first broke onto the scene as part of Feminine Pressure, a female dj partnership with Dj Touch. They worked together on pirate station Freak Fm, where special guests on there show included Booker T, Joey Mustapha and Grant Nelson.

Those early days were difficult as it was hard to be accepted being as young female in a male dominated industry. Soon the work started coming in and Feminine Pressure was playing all over London.

Island tripper
After Dj’ing on Freak Fm Blush went to work in Corfu, Kavos, playing at various clubs on the island for six months.

When she came back to England she began to work on her own, djing in clubs and bars but it wasn’t long before she teamed up with another female Dj, Misti. They went on to work on several pirates including Risk Fm, Shine Fm, Touch Fm and more recently HouseFM. Blush then became resident Dj at The Spot, Covent Garden on Fridays where she plays a mix of House, US Garage and Old Skool.

Producing magic...
For the Future Blush wants to carry on with her Dj’ing as well as producing her own tracks. Some of her favourite producers at the moment are Harrison Crump, Chris Lum, Jay J, Tom Neville and Dj Gregory to name but a few. Blush has started working on her own productions and has teamed up with fellow female 'Touch' for her first release called 'Dont waste your love on me' featuring the fantastic vocal talents of RJ, a singer Blush discovered in a nightclub she was playing in (and boy does this guy have a voice!).

A CLASS ACT

A busy DJ
Highlights from the last include playing at The Ministry Of Sound for Saturday Sessions in the bar where Blush tore the roof off with her energetic set, (the crowd were going so crazy that at one point she was asked if she could calm them down a bit!). Also Blush has got to dj abroad a lot this year including playing in Rhodes for Lollipop promotions and getting to play in the south of France in Valence for Razanaprod.net she has enjoyed working in Europe and is already busy taking bookings for next year, expect to see Blush in France, Greece, Croatia and Spain soon.

Blush has recently got involved with The It Girls, an all female group which includes dancers, musicians, singers and dj's, she has already done some events with the girls including an unforgettable weekend in Bangor Wales (check out www.theitgirls.co.uk).

Expect plenty more from The First Lady of House in the next 12 months.

Now Blush is with Push FM where she hosts her own show on a Saturday afternoon, playing funky, tribal, sexy, soulful house mixed up with US garage, and anything else that tickles her fancy.
