CANDY APPLE PRODUCTIONS
Who are they? Candy Apple Productions comprises Martin and long time friend Justin Canton, who both growing up together in North London soon found they had a common ground the love of music.
They have been producing music together for the last 15 years in different forms and guises but they started Candy Apple in 1996 with good friend Kevin Paul and released their first Candy Apple track later that year. The track in question was a remix of Positive Forces We got the Funk which was played by some of the top Djs in the world: Bobbi and Steve, Joey Negro, Jazz n Groove, Norman Jay & many others. It was also included on The Garage City album.
What have they done? Since then the boys have released numerous singles including Johnnies Theme and You're my Number One (ft. Jon Banfield). Justin and Martin carried on producing tracks such as My Dreams (ft. Ife), Close to Me (ft. Anjou). Candy Apple ft. Joy Malcolm's Under your Spell was released on Morehouse Records USA, which has been signed to Hed Kandi's soulful compilation series Stereo Sushi and Seamless Records Bar Grooves series. They have also done several remixes for Soundstate Recordings including the classic from Federal Hill I have something for you.
Due to their success with their Candy Apple Edits series they were asked to do a cover of the Nora Jones track Those Sweet Words with Anjou, which has featured on a Houseafrika compilation in South Africa as well as a Club SuSu Get Lifted compilation in the UK.
Justin and Martin have also had there hands in a few unofficial remixes of various artists including Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, R Kelly, Roachford, Angie Stone and many more.
Away from House music they have also had their hands in productions of various music styles including trance, hip hop, RnB, pop, UKG and even some rock tracks. They have also had their work used on TV, Film, Conference advertising and Corporate Websites.
What's next for Candy Apple Productions?
They are currently in the studio working on a follow up track to Under your Spell with Joy Malcolm and they have just finished a cover version of the great soul classic Buttercup with Jon Banfield. They are also working on several tracks with Anjou, which should see the boys very busy over the next few months.
